Zimbabwean fashion designer Charmaine Nziradzemhuka was born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Georgia, to pursue a career in fashion design and gain hands-on experience to become a seasoned designer. During her time there, she worked at the SCAD FASH Museum, where she met designers like Mary Katrantzou. Charmaine has also worked on the “I Wear My Culture Project” by the British Council and Paper Bag Africa, led by Gilmore Tee. She facilitated a Wearable Tech workshop at Texpo at St. George’s College, partnering with tech professionals like Learning Factory.
Charmaine has showcased her work internationally, including in Norway, where she paid tribute to her two uncles lost during COVID-19. Her designs have been featured at the Style Icon Awards, the Fabrik Party, Sustainable Fête, The Herald Lifestyle Fashion Extravaganza, and the Matobo Women Pop-up Event by the German Society. CharDesignz, her brand, is synonymous with groundbreaking fashion and timeless elegance.
As the creative force behind CharDesignz, Charmaine has redefined contemporary style with a unique blend of innovation, artistry, and a deep understanding of modern aesthetics, while also creating a positive environmental impact. She believes fashion is a powerful communicator through storytelling, which allows her designs to fully express her true self. Charmaine is passionate about making a difference in her local community by empowering young girls to follow their passions, creating employment opportunities, and positively impacting the environment in her hometown.
